No-Sew Fabric Wreath Tutorial
Usher in the fall season with this easy, no-sew fabric wreath!
Complete this project within a couple hours to welcome autumn, and your house guests, with this beautiful fabric wreath at your front door.
What you’ll need
- #16 foam wreath
- Assortment of about three hundred 2.5″ squares. This project includes a beautiful selection of fall hues from Moda’s Grunge fabric line and Meadowmere by Gingiber for Moda
- Rotary blade
- Chopstick or similar tool with a blunt tip
- Metal pins (optional)
- Washable school glue (optional)

Getting started
This tutorial is a great beginner project. You’ll get to practice your accuracy with cutting fabric using a rotary blade without pressure to make perfect cuts.
Cutting fabric
- Select an assortment of fabrics, using 4–6 colours to make a cohesive colour palette. This tutorial’s selection is perfect for fall and will even move nicely into the holiday season with its warm reds, brown and greens pulled from the pattern in the Meadowmere fabric.
- Cut 2.5″ by width of fabric (WOF) strips.
- Sub-cut those strips into 2.5″ squares.

Adding squares to the foam wreath

- Select a 2.5″ square and place the end of the chopstick into the centre of the square.
- Poke the chopstick into the wreath form, pushing the chopstick in about ¼” into the foam.
- Repeat around the entire foam wreath, varying the colours of fabric in a random pattern.
- Fill in the wreath foam form until the foam cannot be seen. You don’t need to fill in the back (as it will be against the door), but make sure the top and bottom have good coverage.

Adding extra durability
- I found pushing the fabric squares into the foam was sufficient to keep it in place.
- Optionally, you could use a metal pin to secure the centre of each fabric square.

- You could also add a small amount of school glue and then push each square into the foam.

That’s it, you’re all done!
We love this project because it’s a great way to improve your cutting accuracy without pressure, and it is so quick to come together! Make it in a few different colours and swap them out with the seasons.
